How It Works

From Your Drawings to Delivered Steel

1. Send Your Drawings

Upload STP, STEP, DWG, DXF, or PDF files through our quote form — STP submissions may qualify for a 5% discount. No account, no software, no drawing package too rough to start a conversation.

2. Get a Real Quote

No algorithm guessing at your weldment. Your drawings are estimated by the people who will actually build it — you get pricing, lead time, and any fabrication considerations we see, flagged before steel is cut.

3. We Build & Deliver

Certified welding, documented inspection, finishing, and assembly under one roof — then custom crating and coordinated freight to your site, anywhere in the country.

Common Questions

FAQs

What types of steel fabrication projects do you handle?
Custom and engineered-to-order steel fabrication for industrial and commercial applications: heavy structural assemblies, sheet metal components, certified weldments, high-security specialty products, skid bases, compressor bedplates, tanks, hoppers, and conveyor components — built directly from your drawings.
Is Westmoreland Steel certified for structural welding?
Yes. Our welders are certified to AWS D1.1, AWS D1.3, AWS D15.1, and ASME Section IX, with custom weld procedures available on request. Our quality system is ISO 9001 certified, we maintain a controlled QC manual with a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) on staff, and NDE testing is available when your specification requires it.
Do you work directly with engineers, or only through contractors?
We work directly with engineers, architects, procurement managers, and contractors. Many projects begin at the drawing stage, where we review specifications and flag fabrication considerations early. You do not need a general contractor to work with us.
Do you offer detailing and project management, or do I need complete shop drawings?
Both paths work. We fabricate directly from your shop drawings, or our in-house Autodesk Inventor detailer can develop fabrication details from your design. Combined with in-house project management, we run turnkey projects from drawings through fabrication, finishing, assembly, and delivery — design responsibility remains with your engineer of record.
How do I request a quote?
Send your drawings or specs through our contact page or email them to us directly. STP file submissions may qualify for a 5% discount. Your information stays confidential.
What industries do you serve?
We serve industries that demand certified, documented fabrication: manufacturing, energy — including the nuclear sector — construction, mining, government and defense, wastewater, and infrastructure. Our clients are engineers, procurement teams, contractors, and OEMs.
Do you build high-security or government-related steel products?
Yes. We fabricate specialty and high-security steel products — including blast and vault doors — for government and security-related projects. These engagements follow strict compliance, tight tolerances, and full confidentiality. We apply the same discretion and discipline to all client work.
